CONTRAINDICATIONS

UNDER 18 YEARS OF AGE.

  • TRANSMITTABLE BLOOD CONDITIONS (e.g., HIV or Hepatitis).
  • PREGNANT or NURSING Although there is no medical evidence that permanent makeup would affect an unborn child, we don’t know for sure. So, we suggest you come back after the baby is born and you are no longer nursing.
  • Patients who have EPILEPSY, HEMOPHILIA, or a HEART DISEASE should have a physician’s approval before any permanent makeup procedure.
  • ON ACCUTANE or STEROIDS Topical steroids thin the skin. Depending on your skin’s stage, it may be too fragile to undergo the procedure.
  • GLAUCOMA
  • You must be off RETIN-A or RETINOLS 7 days before the appointment and avoid or around the area for 30 days after. If used before 30 days, it can cause the pigments to fade prematurely.
  • AUTOIMMUNE DISEASE You should get clearance from your doctor before considering permanent makeup.
  • DIABETIC (TYPE 1) If you are insulin-dependent, you are not qualified for permanent makeup. Healing could be compromised and take longer than average.
  • MITRAL VALVE PROLAPSE, ARTIFICIAL HEART VALVES OR ARTIFICIAL JOINTS, or any person that requires prophylactic antibiotics before dental or other procedures will need to consult their physician for treatment before permanent makeup.
  • ON ANTICOAGULATIONS Long-term use of blood thinners results in increased bleeding and bruising, which will affect the implantation of pigment and increase the healing time.
  • BLOOD DISORDERS that affect clotting such as hemophilia, sickle cell anemia, and platelet disorders could interfere with pigment implantation.
  • HAVE ANY OTHER HEART CONDITIONS uncontrolled high blood pressure and poor general health would be a concern; you will need to see your physician and discuss the procedure before considering permanent makeup.
  • HERPES SIMPLEX People who get fever blisters or cold sores may experience an outbreak after procedures. You must consult your physician and receive proper instructions on preventing an outbreak post-procedure.
  • KELOID OR HYPERTROPHIC SCARRING Persons with tendencies for these types of scarring also have the same risk with permanent makeup.
  • If there are any BLEMISHES, PIMPLES, ACTIVE COLD SORES (HERPES), IRRITATION OF THE SKIN of any kind, MOLES, or other skin imperfections in or around the area of the procedure. I will NOT BE ABLE to make the application until the blemish or area of the concern is gone or the mole is removed and healed.
  • CHEMOTHERAPY When someone is going through chemo, they may be more at risk of bleeding or getting an infection. It would be best to get clearance from your doctor before considering permanent makeup.
  • HISTORY OF ALLERGY-RELATED ECZEMA, PSORIASIS OR ALLERGIC TO MAKEUP AND COLORS OR EASILY TRIGGER POST-INFLAMMATORY HYPERPIGMENTATION As permanent makeup can sometimes exacerbate the symptoms. It would be best to get clearance from your doctor before considering permanent makeup.
  • SCARS from surgery (injury) in or around the procedure area must be healed for at least one year before service.

IF YOU HAVE ANY MEDICAL ISSUES THAT YOU FEEL MIGHT BE A CONTRAINDICATION, PLEASE CONSULT YOUR HEALTHCARE PROVIDER BEFORE CONSIDERING PERMANENT MAKEUP.
