HOW DOES IT WORK?
We tattoo dark lips according to the lip neutralization treatment plan. If you have lips with a brown, blue, or purple hue, they can be corrected using opposing colors, like peach, yellow, warm pink, or red. This plan will eventually brighten your lips into a pink hue. The effect lasts from 1 and up to 3 years.

WHY DOES THE TREATMENT REQUIRE MULTIPLE SESSIONS?
Depending on your lip level of pigmentation, the lip neutralization process may be long.
You may require 2-5 neutralization sessions with 6-8 weeks in between each session.
First sessions will help reduce the darkness of lips by using warm-based pigments. When lips become neutral and light, the colored tattooing using targeted pigments can begin
THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW.
- The dark lip neutralization may cause hyperpigmentation to your lips where the skin may produce more melanin which creates darker pigmentation areas. This is a risk that must be acknowledged when consenting to the procedure. It is essential to know how your scars heal. Try to find a scar on your body and see if there is any pigmentation around it; if your scars heal darker than the skin around them, your body produces more melanin after injury, which can happen after dark lips neutralization also.
- It is essential to know that this treatment cannot guarantee you a definite lip color, but you will get lighter and brighter lips for sure, but one cannot determine the actual shade beforehand.
HEALING PROCESS
- During the healing process after the dark lip neutralization, you may experience post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, which is where your lips may temporarily be darker or whiter after the treatment.
- Depending on the client’s age the healing period can extend anywhere from six to eight weeks, sometimes even more.
HOW MUCH DOES IT HURT?
- The technique is non-traumatic, bloodless, and painless. In terms of pain, the procedure is comfortable, but some parts, like the cupid’s bow, feel a bit more sensitive.
- Topical numbing cream is used before and reapplied during your treatment. This step will also help keep you as comfortable as possible.
PRE-CARE INSTRUCTION
- Please check the contraindications first to ensure you are a good candidate for permanent makeup.
- Start to use lip balm/mask/Vaseline several days before the treatment to make your lips soft and smooth. If there is dry skin, it won’t be possible to put the pigment in those areas.
- Avoid drinking alcohol two days before the procedure.
- Â If you have just had fillers/Botox done, wait 3-4 weeks before the permanent makeup procedure.
- Â 4 weeks prior NO chemical peels, Retin-A around the lips area.
- The procedure cannot perform if you have an active cold sore, pimple, or irritation in or around the lips. If you suffer from cold sores, you may start an anti-viral prescription (speak to your doctor).
- On the day of your appointment, do not drink coffee.
- Please stay home and reschedule your appointment if you have a cold, flu, or sinus/respiratory infection.

- The appointment usually takes approximately 2.5 to 3.5 hours.

AFTERCARE INSTRUCTION
LIP BLUSH STAGES OF HEALING
- You may experience swelling and redness after the procedure.
- The following 1-2 days the lips may appear very bright and dry.
- During the healing process, you may experience post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, which is where your lips may temporarily be darker or whiter after the treatment.
- Two days after the treatment, avoid spicy food and heat, do not eat and drink bright-colored food (like berries, red wine, etc.) as it can color your healing skin.
- Keep the treated area clean and dry.
- Do not touch, pick, peel, rub, or scratch your lips during the healing process; try to avoid kissing. Picking or pulling off skin that is not ready to come off will cause pigment loss and pull-out deeper tissue.
- Until the area has healed, moisturize lips with a thin layer of ointment, recommended by the technician. It is essential to moisture lips before eating food or brushing your teeth.
- Do not use decorative cosmetics on the treated area for 10-14 days.
- Avoid for at least two weeks: spa, jacuzzi, saunas, hot, steamy, long showers, and chlorine pools.
- No Gym at least 5 days after treatment.
- Do not expose the treated area to sun or tanning bed (3-4 weeks after procedure).
- Avoid sleeping on your face; use a fresh pillowcase.
- NO abrasive creams, sea salt, chemical peels, laser, antibiotic ointment AHA, Retinols, fillers, or strong treatments on the treated area for 14 days.
- The result of the first treatment will be visible after 6-8 weeks when pigment will stabilize in the skin. Please be patient and trust the process!
ANNUAL TOUCH-UP
After your final touch-up, your permanent makeup should last 12 -24 months, The pigments come off gradually, dissolving evenly and without spots. Once the color starts to fade, the client can book a color refresh session. I recommend that you wait 18-24 months before coming in for another touch-up.
